Be informed about what President Trump actually said about his DACA decision.

I saw this one on the NZ Conservative Coalition blog. Believe me, I don’t believe in punishing children for their parents crimes, but I think most conservatives can at least agree that we don’t like how DACA was forced upon people. Obama wrote an executive order and did not allow this policy to be debated in Congress. If DACA had been a bill that Congress passed, we wouldn’t have quite as many problems with it…I mean, the Democrats had control of the Senate then. DACA was pretty fair and quite generous in allowing illegal immigrants who were brought as children to remain in the U.S. provided they were doing something productive (i.e. secondary education or military service) and were otherwise upstanding citizens (besides the fact that their residence here is illegal). Upon reading the statement, I think that President Trump’s stance here is fair…it doesn’t terminate the program immediately and grandfathers in those already approved or in the works of getting their visa approved and also gives Congress time to whip up a similar bill should they be hell-bent on keeping something like DACA around. I just don’t think that a lot of people realize the finer details of the decision (i.e. beyond the fact that DACA is ending). Enjoy!

What is Governor Rauner thinking?

I saw this one on NZ Conservative Coalition the other day, and I am not surprised that a pretty liberal state like Illinois is doing things like this. However, you’d think that they would think about what this does for their ability to handle crime. The city of Chicago is already crime-riddled enough…if you’re making it hard to apprehend illegals…especially the ones who commit crimes (other than being here illegally)…you’re just exacerbating the problem. Enjoy!

This sounds Orwellian.

Before I begin this post, I must admit that I have never read George Orwell’s 1984 (though I did read Animal Farm in middle school which also reflects the horrors of totalitarianism), but I’m well aware that it alludes to many aspects of totalitarianism. Anyways, on Facebook, I saw that one of my friends shared the following two memes. I like the first one because it shows the connection betweenness Orwellian suppression of free speech and history and what happened this week already with the Confederate statues and with the incidents in Charlottesville. Like many people in America, I believe that slavery was wrong and that that it was an erroneous part of the Confederate ideology. However, I strongly believe in the idea that if we don’t know our history, we will repeat it–I mean, if we whitewash parts of our past we are uncomfortable, how are we supposed to know what the mistakes were? Just because you don’t like someone’s ideology doesn’t mean you should take mention of that person out of public society. Many Confederates made contributions to American society–for example, Robert E. Lee was a fantastic general. Even when you go back in history, for thousands of years, slavery was the norm. I strongly believe that these statues should remain where they are to remind us of their history and what we fought for (though I am open to relocating them to museums as a compromise if that would get these leftist history erasers to shut up…which I doubt). And let’s be honest…if we were to go taking down statues of people who in some way supported slavery (via vocal support, legislation, or even owning slaves), you’d have to take down statues of many famous and great leaders of our country including people such as Washington and Jefferson. Also, I like the second meme because though it makes mention of the alt-right nonsense, it does point out important facts about the Confederacy and the Nazis. In the end, people are complex…not single-sided. People are more than what different parts of evil ideology they support. Because of all this, stuff like this makes today’s age seem frighteningly Orwellian. Enjoy!IMG_3050IMG_3051

Also, I highly recommend tonight’s Tucker Carlson episode on this matter. He summarizes this all very well.

It’s “separate but ‘equal'” all over again.

I saw this one on the NZ Conservative Coalition blog. I get themed learning communities such as an honors floor or a community of outdoor adventurers. These are communities of people who are like-minded and have similar interests, but what’s detailed in this article is segregation all over again. Segregating dorms by race doesn’t treat others he same as civil rights intends. I don’t think I can say more than that.

Since when should (illegal) immigrants have the right to vote?

I saw his article on Facebook, I believe, and I have a few remarks on the issue of immigrates voting. First, if someone–whether legal or illegal–is here in America for a short amount of time and plans to leave soon, what long term interest would they have in this country? And though illegal immigration isn’t always a felony (I read that it is sometimes a misdemeanor), what right do you have to say you have a right to vote when you aren’t a citizen and aren’t even here legally? For me, it only makes sense that citizens can vote as they are going to have vested interests here permanently and generally have no citizen obligations to other countries. Enjoy!

Kid Rock for Senate!

So, I’m sure you’ve all heard about the possibility of Kid Rock running for U.S. Senate in Michigan. It sounds like he doesn’t know yet if he’s going to do it, but I love what he put on the front page of his campaign site and what he wants to do with voter registration, so I included the link to the page for your reading pleasure. I love how he states his message. Enjoy!

You know you’re fiscally irresponsible when the interest you pay on a loan is more than the loan.

I saw this one also on the NZ Conservative Coalition blog about another one of Chicago’s fiscal blunders. I’m honestly just waiting for the city to go bankrupt. Maybe then the municipal government will learn to curb their spending (probably not, but here’s to hoping). Enjoy!

Check this dude out (especially if you live in Massachusetts)!

So, I was watching the Fox News program Watters’ World with my mom tonight, and I learned about how Elizabeth Warren is being challenged for her Senate seat by Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, who is running as a Republican and is an actual Indian (as my dad likes to say, the dot kind), unlike Elizabeth Warren. He actually sent Elizabeth Warren a 23&Me kit for her birthday…lol. Anyways, I checked out his Senate campaign site to see his issues, and I like what I see. I don’t live in Massachusetts, but I encourage any of my Massachusetts homies to check him out!

Willful Ignorance

I saw this one on the NZ Conservative Coalition blog. You’d think that an investigation into the doctrines of Islam would be helpful in learning how to combat Islamic extremism and if Islam truly weren’t a problem, to prove this. However, people are fighting this idea of studying Islam, so it makes me think that they are trying to hide something. Enjoy!

San Fran to Pay Illegal $190K Because…

I got this one last week from a friend of my dad’s, and I absolutely can’t believe that this is happening…but then again, this is coming from California, so I shouldn’t be surprised at the heights to which they are taking their sanctuary city policies. They don’t seem to get that federal law trump municipal law. Enjoy!

This will cost you some enamel grinding away on your teeth while reading….!
