You know your university is a liberal cesspool when a student uses Canvas to send out a message that denounces the university protecting a white supremacist.

So, the other day, I got a message through Canvas, my school’s gradebook software, from this student or whatever complaining that my university was protecting a white supremacist speaker that was on campus by attacking nonviolent protestors and also about my university not increasing diversity and social justice education requirements. Now, I don’t know if there were actually nonviolent protestors and if they were attacked (nor do I trust the student newspaper as it has a leftist slant), but I know that everyone deserves free speech…even white supremacists or even supremacists of any kind. Allowing even those whose viewpoints you don’t like speak, allows multiple perspectives to come to the table so that you can find the best solution. Additionally, we have to learn about diversity enough. In this day and age, most people are more accepting of people of different backgrounds…on this, America was founded. We learn about many different cultures in history classes and shouldn’t be forced to learn this. We all have enough education requirements as it is.
